Are you planning on visiting us during Ramadan?

The Holy Month is a truly magical period and will give visitors a unique insight into some of the numerous activities inspired by the spirit and values of Ramadan. With this month being a significant period in the Islamic calendar, Ramadan spreads the spirit of giving and sharing, promotes cross-cultural understanding, and enlightens residents and visitors from non-Muslim communities on the Islamic and Emirati way of life.

Peace and quiet reigns during the day, with stores being emptier than usual and restaurants remaining closed. At night however, the city comes alive with fun activities designed to bring families and friends together.

During Ramadan there are two traditional feasts that Muslims enjoy; Suhour, which is the feast before the sunrise, and Iftar, which is the meal to break the fast at sunset. Non-Muslim visitors are encouraged to attend both Suhour and Iftar celebrations across the city to learn and enjoy the traditional feasts and cultural activities

This section will give you more information and tips on Ramadan etiquette. Keep browsing to discover how Ramadan transforms Abu Dhabi life and get the full picture on what to see and do during the Holy Month.
